Our story

Human-led accessibility, by design.

We're a small consultancy based in Ottawa with a clear point of view: accessibility is a human problem that deserves human answers.

Why we started

Our world is becoming more virtual, remote, and automated. But every process still begins and ends with a real person — even when software is doing the work in the middle.

Built environments and digital interfaces are designed and constructed by people. The spaces they create are then used by people with goals, needs, and lives.

Recent advances in AI and automation have been celebrated for their ability to substitute for human knowledge and labour. But those tools are built on aggregated data and statistical averages — drawn from environments that historically have not accommodated people with disabilities.

If our goal is a more accessible future, leaning entirely on machine learning and pattern matching is antithetical to that vision: it perpetuates the assumptions of the past.

"Technology should assist, not substitute. Our work is human-led, informed by lived experience, and supported — not replaced — by the tools available to us."

Founding principle

Why "Inclusable"

The name combines inclusive and usable — accessibility that genuinely works for the people it's meant to serve, not accessibility as a compliance checkbox.

Our mission

To make business, design, and technology genuinely accessible to people of all abilities — through human-led consulting, advocacy, and learning that puts lived experience at the centre of every project.

Our vision

A world where the spaces we live, work, and play in — built and digital alike — are designed to be accessible, inclusive, and useful to everyone who uses them.

What guides us

  • Empathy

Human-to-human connection. We hear other people's perspectives and take their lived experience as valid evidence — not anecdote.

  • Integrity

Good faith in every engagement. We say what we believe and we do what we say.

  • Humility

Our perspective is one perspective. We're prepared to challenge our assumptions, keep learning, and evolve alongside the people and society we work with.

  • Community

Accessibility barriers are solved by groups, not heroes. We support, connect, and convene — including across the fragmented spaces within disability communities themselves.

  • Adaptability

No product or service inherently needs to exclude anyone. We design with adaptability in mind — for our clients' work and our own.

  • Wellbeing

Physical and mental health for our team, our partners, and our clients. Accessibility work is sustainable only when the people doing it are too.

A small team, growing deliberately

We're based in Ottawa, Ontario. Today we're a team of three consultants. We're not trying to be the biggest accessibility firm — we're trying to be the most honest one.

We grow by finding people who share our values: that lived experience matters, that automation should assist human judgment rather than replace it, and that accessibility done right takes time and care.
